So after arriving at the Narita Airport, we then had to journey to our hotel which was in Ikebukuro. There are a few options on getting to the main train routes from the airport. You can take the regular train which takes about an hour (we did this on our way out), a bus which takes a real long time, and the option we went with which was the speed train that only took like 15 or 20 minutes to get to the main line. The ride was super smooth and very comfortable. I believe we then arrived into Nippori to transfer onto the regular lines to head to Ikebukuro.
The train stations are sooooo easy to navigate there, they are all color coded as well as numbered in all the stations to help you find the right place you are going. All the names of the cities are in Romanji so if you cannot read Japanese its ok. I will post a video of walking through the train station later on just to give you an idea of what it looks like and how to navigate one. The payment system was also very easy and I will explain later on in more detail about the different options as well as what we did. I believe Ikebukuro is one of the largest stations along with Shinjuku both which we traveled frequently. Once getting off the train in Ikeburkuo we had a very nice gentleman, that I believe was from America, ask us if we needed help finding where we were going. It was very nice of him to make sure we were straight in our ways. We luckily had good directions to the hotel from the station so we didn’t really get lost.
